Jewelry Care
Your ZAHIR jewellery is designed to be treasured for years to come. With the right care, its brilliance and craftsmanship will last a lifetime.
Everyday Care
- Remove your jewellery before engaging in outdoor sports, swimming, gardening, or heavy housework.
- Avoid excessive impact against hard surfaces, as well as direct contact with perfumes, cosmetics, and household chemicals.
- Always remove your jewellery by handling the band or setting — never by pulling directly on the stones.
Cleaning Your ZAHIR Jewellery
- Regular cleaning is essential, as soaps, lotions, and everyday dust can reduce a stone’s sparkle.
- For routine care, use a mild solution of 6 parts water to 1 part ammonia, applied with a very soft, non-metallic bristled brush.
- Jewellery set with stones can also be cleaned using a non-abrasive jewellery cleaner.
- We do not recommend ultrasonic cleaning, as it may damage certain gemstones.
- For optimal care, schedule professional cleaning and servicing at least once a year — this includes checking the setting and prongs to ensure lasting security.
Plating & Tarnish
- All ZAHIR jewellery is plated with white gold to enhance its appearance. Over time, this plating may wear; we recommend re-plating when signs of wear appear.
- Sterling silver naturally tarnishes due to oxidization and moisture in the air. To minimise tarnish, store your jewellery in an airtight pouch made from tarnish-resistant fabric or a sealed plastic zip-lock bag. This also prevents scratches caused by contact with other surfaces.
Special Care for Signature Designs
- Hang up your Floating Diamonds pieces when not in use to maintain their shape.
- When wearing or removing a Helix Cuff, avoid stretching it — instead, gently ease it over the smallest part of your ear for a perfect fit.
